Donald Trump convicted of sexual abuse and defamation, but not rape

Sentenced, but the penalty is not imprisonment, but a fine. The New York court ruled that the former president of the United States Donald Trump abused of Jean Carroll, even though it was not rape, he beat and defamed her to dismiss the charges. This is the verdict issued by the jury at the trial that took place in Manhattan.
So Trump, who ran for the White House again, will not go to prison, but will have to pay one fine about five million dollars. However, if the complaint had been filed before the criminal justice term expired, the former US president would have received a prison sentence. A shame never happened before in the history of America, but at least so far does not seem to have affected the confidence of its voters.

The story of 1996 at the Bergdorf Goodman department store

Trump, 76, was accused by the writer Carroll, 79, of raping her in 1996 in the dressing room of department stores Bergdorf Goodman, in New York. He had asked her for advice on giving a woman a gift. They had ended up in underwear department, and jokingly she had dared him to wear a garment. Once they entered her dressing room, however, he had laid hands on her and raped her.

She hadn't reported him to the police, because at that time (the #MeToo movement was still a long way off) women feared they would not be believed or persecuted as liars. But Jean had called a friend, Lisa Birnbach, to tell her what had happened.

Trump: 'She's a liar' and 'She wasn't my type'

Trump did not appear for trial in Manhattan, but testified via video. He said she made it all up, because she had political motivations, and was looking for money and exposure and to sell her book and added: "He wasn't my type".
“I have absolutely no idea who this woman is. She is a liar This verdict is a shame. A continuation of the greatest witch hunt of all time,” Trump commented on the social platform Truth after the verdict.

Other indictments still hang on Trump

So far his constituents have believed him, and the indictment for paying porn star Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about his affair has also turned into an advantage for him. He has since raised more than $30 million in campaign funding, and an ABC poll gives him 7 points ahead of Joe Biden in next year's presidential election. They are still hanging over him the indictment for trying to change the result of elections in Georgia, and for prosecutor Jack Smith's investigation into the stolen cards in Mar a Lago and theassault on Congress of 6 January.
