They return to Rome ecological Sundays. Tomorrow 20th November first appointment with the Sunday traffic blocks, i.e. with the ban on the circulation in the green belt of almost all motor vehicles. The prohibition traffic will be total for private traffic from 7:30 to 12:30 and from 16:30 to 20:30.
A few days ago, the City Council of Rome approved a resolution relating to the Green Belt which aims to reduce air pollution by limiting the circulation of cars, especially older ones, with environmental classes lower than Euro 4.
The calendar of ecological Sundays: the dates
There will be an Eco Sunday once a month, from November to March. The dates are those of December 4, 2022, January 8, 2023, February 5, 2023 and March 26, 2023.
Who cannot and can circulate
All vehicles will stop a petrol up to Euro 5 environmental class. I Diesel those up to Euro 6 will be blocked instead. Also stop motorcycles and 4-stroke two-wheeled mopeds prior to the Euro 3 and Euro 2 environmental classes, respectively.
All clear for vehicles electrical, hybrids, Euro 6 petrol cars, methane and LPG vehicles, car-sharing vehicles, those with a disability sticker and 4-stroke motorcycles and mopeds later than Euro 3 and Euro 2.
The fine with the traffic block
Who does not respect the traffic block risks a hefty fine ranging from a minimum of 163 to a maximum of 658 euros. In the event of recidivism, the driving license can also be withdrawn within 15 to 30 days.
