Ignazio Visco, Vittorio Grilli, Giuseppe Mussari and Giuseppe Guzzetti: all facing each other tomorrow at the Palazzo della Cancelleria (that of the Sacra Rota), in Rome, on the occasion of the Savings Day promoted by Acri, the association that brings together the banking foundations.
It will not be a routine appointment for at least two reasons: firstly because the Italian economy is going through a very delicate moment due to the worsening of the recession and the difficult search for a way out after more than a decade without growth.
Secondly, the Savings Day will be a thermometer of the trends of the Foundations which, once the season of large bank profits is over, find themselves at a crossroads: to confirm their presence in the banking groups and in the Cassa depositi e prestiti even at the cost of a reduction of dividends or accentuate the diversification of investments, albeit excluding sensational short-term exits from the banking system.
