Dolce and Gabbana sentenced to 18 months for prison break

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana sentenced to one year and 8 months for tax evasion. This was decided by the Court of Milan. Prosecutor Laura Pedio - who had asked for two years and six months - spoke of "sophisticated tax fraud" for about one billion euros and of "granite evidence".

According to the indictment, to obtain tax savings Dolce and Gabbana set up a company in Luxembourg, Gado, which owns the group's brands and is managed in Italy.

The lawyer Massimo Dinoia, lawyer of the two stylists, spoke instead of a "paradox of paradoxes", because "it is not possible for a citizen to pay taxes twice as much as he earns".
