Doing Business in Iran

In the face of the sanctions adopted against Tehran in recent years, the obstacles to trade with Iran have become increasingly numerous, but not impossible to overcome.

Doing business with the Islamic Republic of Iran has become increasingly difficult following the relentless unilateral sanctions that the international community continues to pass on the country, as extensively explained in the FIRST article online of 29.08.2011 "Iran: restrictions on imports/exports". However, business opportunities in Iran are not non-existent.

It is worth considering some aspects of the Iranian economy: the growing trend of imports indicates, in fact, the strong demand for the purchase of goods and services from abroad, a demand that risks being saturated by Tehran's new main trading partners. The presence of Chinese products on the Iranian market is increasingly consistent, also following the divestments made by many "Western" companies, which in doing so have paved the way for a power that is now becoming dominant everywhere and characterized by a commercial hunger that is difficult to satiate .

Although the most important sector of the Iranian economy, that of oil and gas, has been made the subject of an investment ban, there are still many areas of interest for Italian companies, which it is right to keep alive.

However, it is essential to know how to move within the Iranian market, paying attention not only to the banking aspect, but also to thethe different cultural reality with which we find ourselves dealing.

Iranian culture is in fact very different from what we are used to, and it is useful to know how to behave when dealing with an Iranian counterpart.

The attached document, signed by Hooman Mirmohammad Sadeghi, is dedicated to this matter
