Dl Lavoro: the majority trembles, Renzi puts his trust

The majority wobbles in the face of the Labor decree and Renzi convenes a summit at Palazzo Chigi - Ncd takes a position: "Either the text returns to the way it was before the passage to the Commission or we don't vote" - The other stumbling block is on the reform of the Senate: the crux is eligibility.

Dl Lavoro: the majority trembles, Renzi puts his trust

The Renzi government tests its majority in the face of the toughest and most real obstacle, that of reforms, and in particular on the Labor Law, on which the majority itself, after the changes in the commission, seems to waver, so much so as to have forced the premier Matteo Renzi to convene a summit that gave the go-ahead to trust the text.

The main issue is the position of the New center-right which, in order to vote on the decree, requires a majority agreement to restore the text to its original version, that is, before passing it to commission. According to some members of the party led by Angelino Alfano, the party could vote against.

“At the moment – declared the Ncd deputy Fabrizio Cicchitto – there is no agreement on the work decree, we are not voting for it. It's a step forward compared to the Fornero reform, but the proposal was better before it went through commission." Other illustrious exponents of Ncd have lined up along the same lines, from Sacconi to Formigoni.

Green light for the Work decree, however, by Forza Italia, while Civic Choice is in doubt. The employment front, however, is not the only one on which such a heterogeneous majority risks splitting: the other game being played these days is that of the reform of the Senate and Title V of the Constitution. A match in which Prime Minister Renzi will have to contend not only with the intentions of the NCD, the Civic Choice and Forza Italia, but also with a large minority within the Democratic Party. The crux, in this case, is that of the eligibility of senators. A series of knots that Renzi hopes to untie as soon as possible, perhaps even at today's summit.
