Snam e Bees, (Brachetti Peretti group), have signed a letter of intent for the development of the supply network of methane for cars in Italy. The agreement is part of the initiatives, such as the agreement between Snam itself, FCA and Iveco, aimed at increasing the consumption of natural gas as fuel in our cars. In particular, the construction of 150 new plants within the Ip sales network, a company of the API group, is envisaged, thus promoting the diffusion of the offer of low-emission alternative fuels.

The initiative is located within the Snam plan for the development of sustainable mobility for which the group has allocated a total investment of 200 million euros over the next 5 years. The API network consists of 3 IP-branded points of sale throughout the national territory.

Thanks to a consolidated and cutting-edge technology in the world, Italy is the first European market for the consumption of methane for vehicles, with over 1 billion cubic meters consumed in 2015 and around 1 million vehicles currently in circulation. A consumption, that of methane, which makes it possible to eliminate particulate emissions and reduce the production of carbon dioxide by 40% compared to diesel and petrol, and which entails savings for consumers equal to 40-50%.
