Italy is the black jersey in Europe for youth unemployment. The unemployed under the age of 24 are 29,6%, against 21% of the continental average. As regards the age group up to 35 years, 1.138.000 people stay at home, 25,1% of the total. The data was released today by the Confartigianato study office.

But the numbers do not photograph a homogeneous situation. There are distances between North and South and their weight is considerable. In the South, unemployment under the age of 35 is a much more widespread phenomenon, involving 25,1% of the population (538 people). The region where the problem is most serious is Sicily, where the figure reaches 28%.
