Signed an agreement to promote joint actions to promote experiential tourism, agri-food production and protection of art houses. A heritage with significant economic repercussions for the country

Historic houses and Confagricoltura together for quality agri-food

Combining high quality food production, experiential tourism and art protection: this is the meaning of an important agreement stipulated in Rome between the President of the Italian Historical Houses Association (ADSI) Giacomo di Thiene and the President of Confagricoltura Massimiliano Giansanti.

The agreement formalises the collaboration through the commitment to promote joint initiatives at national, regional and provincial level aimed at promoting the development of entrepreneurial activities capable of combining sustainability, innovation and the local area.

In particular, the agreement provides for the possibility of carrying out common actions for the protection of historic homes and for the harmonization of regional laws with national ones; the elaboration of synergistic lines of action towards external entities in defense of common interests at a tax level; the possibility of participating jointly in European tenders connected to the enhancement of historic properties and their contexts; the identification of new marketing opportunities for agricultural products.

From Venetian villas to Tuscan castles, Roman palaces and ancient Apulian farms, historic properties are an integral part of the cultural heritage of our country, and at the same time play an important role in the protection and enhancement of the Italian rural landscape. In particular, the historic cellars offer Italian and foreign travelers the opportunity to stay in places rich in history and to taste the excellent food and wine of our territories in unique and unrepeatable contexts.

“The agreement with Confagricoltura represents an extraordinary opportunity for the Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane to jointly carry out actions and interventions that aim to protect unique and non-relocatable resources of our territory. In fact, historic buildings are not only an integral part of our rural and urban landscape, which they contribute to defining and safeguarding, but they are also the hub of activities that have important, and diversified, economic repercussions for our country,” he declared. Giacomo di Thiene, President of the Italian Historic Houses Association.

“I am very satisfied with this collaboration agreement – comments in turn the President of Confagricoltura Massimiliano Giansanti – which brings together agriculture and beauty in a unique combination in the world, made up of quality and diversity that only our country can offer. Agriculture not only plays the primary and irreplaceable role of supplying food, but also and increasingly, thanks to the commitment of entrepreneurs, that of protecting the environment and preserving the country's cultural heritage, increasingly contributing to economic well-being of rural communities".

The collaboration between Confagricoltura and the Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane is a collaboration that has been going on for many years, since there are numerous member companies of the agricultural organization that belong to old houses, subject to restrictions due to their relevance as assets of historical-artistic interest .
