Dijsselbloem: "Probably need new aid to Athens"

Athens may need new aid. This was stated by the president of the Eurogroup Jeroen Dijsselbloem during a hearing at the European Commission for Economic Affairs: "It is too early to say what the new aid program for Greece might consist of, what the conditions might be, of course it is very likely that Greece needs a new program".

Dijsselbloem then spoke of the progress already made by Greece, specifying, however, that "further progress is needed in the reform of the public sector and the tax authorities". The position of the Eurogroup is clear, according to the president himself: "we are ready to give further assistance if necessary".
