Bad blow for the Northern League governor of the Piedmont region, Roberto Cota. One of his most esteemed councilors, the former Fiat manager, Paolo Monferino, currently regional health councilor, openly declared during a hearing before the Budget Commission that "the Piedmont Region is technically bankrupt".
One can imagine Cota's disarray and irritation that those words aroused. Cota immediately hastened to say that Monferino's statements were decontextualized and only served to incite everyone to greater efforts to keep spending under control. Monferino only specified that "healthcare is not out of control" . But if the Lombardy of Celeste Formigoni cries, the Piedmont of the Northern League Cota certainly does not laugh.
