Diary of the earthquake, Erg Rivara Storage: good if the judiciary investigates

It is a good thing that the judiciary is investigating the alleged drilling in the areas affected by the Emilia earthquake, for the project of a gas storage area in Rivara: Erg Rivara Storage, the company that owns the project, writes it today in a note. At the moment, among other things, Ers has not taken any decision regarding the future of the initiative.

In fact, the press office specifies that the top management of the company are waiting to see the papers, on the basis of which the government would have written the final word on the initiative. "The Ers Company - reads the press release released this morning - applauds the initiative of the Judiciary which, according to what has been learned from press agency notes, will verify whether unauthorized geological activities have been carried out in the area affected by the earthquake in Emilia, with reference to the seismic research permit requested by the Society. Despite numerous denials about the performance of any activity, systematic disinformation interventions in the press and on the internet have involved Ers with serious repercussions on the image and reputation of the company and its shareholders. Unfortunately, the responsible local authorities have seriously delayed in denying illegal activities such as drilling without authorization".

“Ers reiterates – continues the note – that it has not carried out any exploration activity in the Rivara area, and it could not have because the Ministry of Economic Development, the final decision maker in the ambit of the administrative procedure, had not authorized it to do anything. Given the seriousness of the incident, the Ers Company hopes that the Judiciary will also be able to identify those responsible of the dissemination of news clearly without any foundation and is available to the Magistrates to offer maximum collaboration."
