Seventy-seven thousand businesses work in the Emilian areas affected by the earthquake, equal to 20,2% of the regional total, with 343 thousand workers. Nearly 15 farms affected by the earthquake. These are the numbers published today on the Ermes website of the Emilia-Romagna Region.

The economic dimension of the municipalities affected by the earthquake - writes the Region - is equal to over 25 billion in added value and over 15 billion in exports abroad. 1,8% of the national GDP is produced here. The most important sector is that of mechanics which employs 70 people, followed by textiles (20 employed), food (10) and ceramics with 4 workers. Basically, this is over 60% of the total employees in the provinces of Modena and Ferrara and over 20% in those of Reggio and Bologna.

Large numbers also in the agricultural field, with 14.119 companies potentially affected by the earthquake, 672 of which are farms and an affected agricultural area of ​​215.976 hectares, about 20% of the regional total. Among the most affected sectors is that of Parmigiano Reggiano, with over 10 dairies unusable and around 630 wheels damaged.

The Region also summarizes the numbers of displaced persons. There are 12.180 citizens welcomed in the emergency structures, compared to a total availability of 15.754 places. Of these, 9.265 are housed in the 35 camps set up in the area, 2.915 in indoor structures such as schools and gyms, while 2040 have found hospitality in hotels.

The work of assistance to the population is guaranteed by over 1.500 civil protection volunteers, in addition to 4.500 operators and experts from the fire brigade, the armed forces and law enforcement, local authorities. 

With 100 additional firefighters in service from today, the total number of those engaged daily in the area in rapid checks on buildings rises to 1.250: from 20 May to 3 June 19.890 were carried out, the goal is to complete the remaining 13.976 checks within a week.

At the same time, the teams of regional technicians authorized to compile the Aedes forms for damage assessment were also strengthened, who are responsible for assessing the structures in the most critical conditions or carrying out further assessments after the Fire Brigade: there were 92 yesterday, there are 103 from today: 14 in particular are the teams made available by the Faculties of Engineering of the Universities of Bologna, Parma, Modena-Reggio Emilia and Ferrara and 12 are those expressly involved in concluding the checks on the schools.
