Deutsche Telekom, profits soar: +60% in the third quarter

Deutsche Telekom closes the third quarter of 2015 with a net profit of 809 million euros, up by almost 60% compared to the 506 million recorded in the same period last year. The surge in profits can be explained in part by exceptional items recorded in 2014, but even excluding restructuring costs, the increase was 30 percent.

In terms of adjusted Ebitda, the improvement was from 12,9% to 5,2 billion. The positive third quarter numbers allow the group to confirm its expectations for the full year with the adjusted Ebitda target of approximately 18,3 billion (against 17,6 billion in 2014).

The positive trend of the quarterly accounts is linked above all to the weakness of the euro, which produced an acceleration in turnover in the United States, where mobile telephony mainly grew. The development of optical fiber in Germany is also good.
