Design, the "star" of light is from Pomezia, on the outskirts of Rome

The star of light is from Pomezia. No, Italian design is not a boast only from Brianza or Veneto but also from many dynamic companies in central and southern Italy. For example, a company from Pomezia has created an authentic technological miracle: to become one of the most celebrated names in the world of lighting design always using the same material declined in a thousand forms and collecting the most prestigious awards all over the world. Is called Slamp, was founded by a creative entrepreneur, Roberto Ziliani who wanted to inaugurate the first 25 years of his business with a new headquarters-plant in Pomezia, sending messages of courageous optimism.

Cultured, creative, open to the most advanced technologies but a rigorous champion of craftsmanship, he sensed many years ago that the polymer deriving from the research of Nobel Prize winner Giulio Natta allowed the creation of always different and unusual shapes. And by opening up to world-famous architects and designers, his company has given life to masterpieces of light that are unique in the true meaning of the term. Euroluce, the Salone del Mobile, the Fuori Salone and other major world events have consecrated Slamp, which today has a turnover of around 10 million euros, as one of the most innovative lighting companies. In fact, its lamps are exported to around 100 countries on all continents. With a final jewel, La Fleur, battery operated, signed by Marc Sadler.

Algae cleans the air of Milan – It will be an installation of great emotional impact that, in the gardens of Palazzo Isimbardi in Milan, as part of the Fuori Salone during the Salone del Mobile, the Milanese will be able to see and..."breathe". In fact, for years COS and EcologiStaudio have been creating works on the border between architecture and art based on natural materials and tools, in the name of a circular economy that not only declines declarations of eco-sustainability but which implements them. Everything is based on the extraordinary properties of mini-algae which, in this installation with fluctuating and natural shapes and at the same time based on digital technologies, will give clean air with chlorophyll photosynthesis, absorbing carbon as is their nature.

The hood does too – Baraldi is a small manufacturer of very sophisticated hoods and purification systems; since 1965, near Milan, it has been combining design and technology and, blatantly contradicting the saying according to the which the successful entrepreneur founds the company and often the son undoes it, the second generation represented by the CEO Lorenzo Baraldi he renewed with great intuition a small company that could disappear between recessions, relocations and unfair competitors. Which today instead churns out 150 new products (above all hoods), all manufactured in Italy, renewing the catalog every year with 25 new appliances.

Applying for example very useful patents: the suction induction hob that requires only a simple gesture for cleaning and maintenance, being lifted upwards by one hand. Instead of tiring, long and complicated maneuvers. And then the hood that finally solves a problem well known by those who, like women, often work in the kitchen amidst smells and vapours: the heavy condensation that makes you dirty, doesn't let you breathe and pollutes. DryDrop significantly reduces the dripping caused by cooking, a function that can be activated when the vapors begin.
