Design Holding announces the appointment of Gabriele Del Torchio as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately. The manager has already led major international groups including Ferretti Group, Il Sole 24 Ore, Alitalia and Ducati. Del Torchio has also been a member of the Board of Directors of B&B Italia since 2015. He will lead the Group together with Piero Gandini, President of Design Holding. Piero Gandini commented: “It's a real pleasure to have a professional with Gabriele's experience in the team. I'm sure his contribution will be invaluable for Design Holding." Giorgio Busnelli is vice president of the board of directors of the Holding.
The entrance of the Group CEO arrives shortly after Alessandro Poletto's arrival at Design Holding, previously Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Moleskine, as CFO of the Group. At the same time, Armin Broger stepped down as CEO of B&B Italia. Broger was instrumental in structuring the business contract, creating a Retail model for B&B Italia and an operational structure for Arclinea, B&B Italia's luxury kitchen brand. We would like to thank him for his contribution to the creation of Design Holding. Gabriele Del Torchio will also assume the position of CEO of B&B Italia with immediate effect.
In September 2018, Investindustrial and The Carlyle Group announced their intention to create an international high-end interior design group, initially bringing together three complementary companies with strong individual identities and long heritages in design: B&B Italia Group in furnishings, Flos and Louis Poulsen in lighting. Since then, in line with this vision, a solid central management has been created to ensure coordination and reap the benefits given by the greater scale and deeper know-how, shared between the three companies headed by Design Holding.
