DERBY DELLA MOLE - Pirlo gives away the derby to Juve with four seconds to go (2-1)

DERBY DELLA MOLE – Just four seconds from the end, Pirlo invented a masterpiece goal that gave the Bianconeri the victory (2 to 1) in the derby against a Turin that was never tamed and capable of momentarily equalizing itself with a jewel from the Brazilian Bruno Peres, author of the best goal of Sunday – Vidal had previously scored from a penalty

DERBY DELLA MOLE - Pirlo gives away the derby to Juve with four seconds to go (2-1)

At the last breath. The 139th derby della Mole was thus decided and, once again, it was Juve who enjoyed it. Thanks to Andrea Pirlo, a wonderful player, capable of giving him the victory with a right foot from 25 meters with 4 seconds (!) From the end. An unthinkable play for almost all the players in our league but not for him, an absolute top player who can always make a difference. And so, once again this year, Juventus won the derby, this time however with difficulty, a lot of effort.

The Bull fielded heart and tactical organization, as well as a spectacular play (the best of the weekend) which, for over an hour, put the most popular Lady in check. Bruno Peres' goal was a real jewel that deserved better luck but Juve, as we know, are ruthless, especially in the derby towns. “A draw would have been fairer – admitted Allegri at the press conference. – But football is like this, in Genoa it was us who lost in the 94th minute…”.

The Juventus coach did not say it openly but this was a very different match from Marassi's. It may be a cliche but the derby is truly a story in itself, especially when, like yesterday, it is played openly by both teams. Juve didn't offer a particularly brilliant performance, partly due to post-Champions fatigue (it is no coincidence that they fell short), partly due to the skill of Ventura, the first in Italy to annoy the black and whites since they've been playing with the 4-3-1-2. The grenade coach declared his "warlike" intentions by deploying Amauri and Quagliarella from the first minute, a surprise move in an attempt to instill courage in the team. However, at first, it seemed to have had no effect.

Juve got off to a strong start and, after just a quarter of an hour, they had already taken the lead. Blame El Kaddouri, naive to hit the ball with his elbow in the area, for a clear penalty that Vidal coldly converted (twice since Orsato had it repeated). The 1-0 seemed to be able to bring down Toro, then Bruno Peres arrived. The Brazilian went ball and chain 80 meters (!) before finishing the coast to coast with a fearsome right-footed cross: Storari (deploying for the injured Buffon) could only collect the ball at the bottom of the bag (23').

Thus ended the grenade curse of scoring in the derby, absent from the scores since 2002. If anyone had doubts about Turin's real competitiveness, they had to think again because a very open match was staged at the Stadium. Then, in the second half, thanks to a drop in Juve, Ventura's men even came close to taking the lead (Quagliarella) and when Lichtsteiner was sent off for a double red card (78') they really began to believe in the company. The Bianconeri, after risking a couple of counter-attacks, had already accepted the idea of a draw, all except Pirlo.

The genius from Brescia saw a hole in the bottom corner of the grenade holder and the ball went exactly there, as often happens when he kicks it. A number that made the Stadium explode with joy and Ventura with anger, caught by the cameras making a very ugly gesture towards the stands. “I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done it – explained the grenade technician. – I was angry with one of our fans, someone who insulted one of my players for 90 minutes”. A bad ending to a beautiful derby, the first in which, finally, Juve and Toro really played it out.
