The mini-Imu cannot be avoided. This was confirmed by the Minister for Regional Affairs, Graziano Delrio, who also in recent days had opened up to the request of the mayors of Emilia Romagna. The proposal was to impose a one-off tax on gambling and use the proceeds to wipe out the remaining portion of the single municipal tax that first-time homeowners will have to pay by 24 January. This is the difference between the 2012 Imu and the one due for 2013, which is higher in the Municipalities that have chosen to raise the rates.
“The review of real estate taxation on gambling is a battle we've always fought, I did it too when I was president of Anci – said Delrio today on the sidelines of the tricolor celebrations underway in Reggio Emilia -. On the merits, I cannot disagree, but it is not applicable”.
What's the problem? “The Ministry of the Economy confirmed to me that we are unable to apply this revision to the mini IMU, which is accounted for in 2013 – continued the minister -. However, there is a commitment from the entire Government to review this taxation in a more equitable and more compliant way": at the moment, however, "we are technically unable to solve this problem, and therefore there is no solution to the mini Imu".
