Samsung world number one in the consumer goods sector. To certify it, for the sixth consecutive year, is the study "Global Powers of Consumers Products 2014" by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. The South Korean giant closed 2013 with a 22% increase in turnover, reaching 178 billion euros.

In second place is Apple with 156,5 billion (+44,6%), followed by Nestlè (98,3 billion, +10%) which has overtaken Panasonic (88,3 billion, -6,9%) on the lowest step of the podium. Fifth is Procter and Gamble (84 billion), ahead of Sony, Unilever, PepsiCo, CocaCola and LG Electronics.

Six Italian groups are also included in the world Top 250, which recorded an aggregate turnover of 39 billion dollars, an increase of 8%. The first Italian is Ferrero, which is placed 84th, with over 10 billion dollars (+8%) in turnover, gaining two positions compared to last year's ranking.

Luxottica also climbs the ranking, 92nd (from 93rd) with 9,1 billion (+13,9%). The other Italian groups present are, in order, Pirelli with 7,8 billion, Barilla, Indesit and Perfetti Van Melle. Although all the six Italian groups in the standings saw their sales increase and their margins and profitability improve, Deloitte pointed out that not all of them managed to increase their position in the standings, especially due to the difficulties of the markets in the basin of the Mediterranean.
