Della Valle on Cairo-RCS: low price

Diego Della Valle, RCS's main shareholder with 7,3%, and Marco Tronchetti Provera, CEO of Pirelli (which holds 4,4%), both consider the Public Ops launched by Urbano Cairo on the publishing group to be inappropriate.

Della Valle on Cairo-RCS: low price

"Cairo is a friend, he was right to try, it's his job and therefore I don't consider it a hostile operation". This is how Diego Della Valle, the main shareholder of RCS with 7,3%, comments on the Ops launched by Urbano Cairo on the publishing group. Conversing with journalists on the sidelines of the Tod's meeting, Della Valle explains: "Cairo is a publisher by trade, it questions itself, it invests a part of its capital and if it deems it right to attempt this operation, it has my full understanding". if then the entrepreneur from the Marches expresses skepticism by adding that "obviously the operations can be attempted but then they must succeed, and I think I understood that the value of the operation is not fair".

The CEO of Pirelli Marco Tronchetti Provera is slightly more optimistic: "The price and the structure of the operation can and must be improved: it is up to the bidders to decide". Pirelli owns a 4,4% stake in the publishing group. When asked which side he took in the dispute over the publishing group, he replied: "I'm on the side of RCS".
