Dell: Farewell to the Nasdaq after 25 years

Dell says goodbye to the stock market after 25 years. The computer maker will leave the Nasdaq following the buyout by its founder, Michael Dell, and the Silver Lake investment fund. The buyers, according to a note, will pay 13,65 dollars per share (against 11 at the current price). The operation, in which Microsoft also took part, is valid 24,4 billion dollars (about 18 billion euros).

This is the largest acquisition since 2007 (when Tpg and Goldman Sachs took over Alltell for 25 billion). The transaction will be completed within the second quarter of fiscal 2014. Microsoft will finance the debt operation with two billion, while the other two shareholders will receive securities and cash.
