Delfin, Rocco Basilico challenges in Luxembourg the resolution by which Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio acquired the 25% stake held by siblings Luca and Paola.

Rocco Basilico, one of Delfin's eight shareholders, is contesting Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio's purchase of two brothers' shares for €10 billion and challenging the resolution of the April 27 meeting in the Luxembourg court, where the Del Vecchio heirs' holding company has its registered office. Il Sole 24 Ore also reports a possible transfer of the bare ownership of his mother's 12,5% stake to Leonardo Maria Jr., but it remains to be seen whether the statutory right has been respected.

Delfin, Rocco Basilico challenges in Luxembourg the resolution by which Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio acquired the 25% stake held by siblings Luca and Paola.

Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio he was making it a little too easy and thought he could get around the statute of Dolphin, the Luxembourg-based holding company of the Del Vecchio family, which requires unanimity for all strategic decisions. This is why one of the eight partners, the thirty-year-old manager Rocco Basil, son of first marriage of Nicoletta Zampillo (second wife of Leonardo and mother of Leonardo Maria) and of Paul Basil (the founder of Kairos) has challenged the Luxembourg Court the resolution of April 27th with which, with only 6 votes out of 8, Leonardo Del Vecchio jr. acquired the shares of the Luca and Paola brothers for 10 billion euros becoming the first shareholder with 37,5%, but certainly not the dominus of Delfin which, as is known, has the control of Essilor Luxottica and the rich financial holdings in Generali (10%) Ps (17,5%) and Unicredit (2,9%).

Sources close to Leonardo Jr. claim that the transfer of share packages approved by the shareholders' meeting at the end of April it will go on anyway, although the green light for the bank loan to finance the operation is still awaited. Sources close to Leonardo Maria, according to what was reported by Sun 24 Hours, they also announced that they have reached an agreement with the mother Nicoletta Zampillo for the transfer of the bare ownership of 12,5% to Leonardo's son from his second marriage: if this news is confirmed, it is likely that Rocco's lawyers will ask to verify whether the legitimate portion, which provides equal treatment of the inheritance for all children, has been respected.

The outcome of the battle is far from certain and Rocco Basilico certainly does not intend to compromise on the absolute respect of the Delfin statute devised before his death by the founder of the dynasty.
