Vaccine decree, ok from the Senate

32 amendments approved during the Senate examination of the vaccine decree. Changed some parts of the provision. The decree will expire on August 6, now it will pass to the Chamber. Tensions and arguments in the classroom during the explanations of votes.

Vaccine decree, ok from the Senate

Green light from the Senate to the decree law establishing the vaccination obligation in school, from zero to sixteen. The votes in favor were 171, with 63 no and 19 abstentions. In addition to the majority, Forza Italia, Civic Choice-Ala and Mdp also voted Yes. The government therefore overcomes a difficult obstacle, despite the criticisms of the measure coming from the opposition and from the majority itself, but in any case a step forward towards definitive approval, after the negative outcome of the debate on the ius alone. The majority thus overcomes another step, on an issue that has captured the attention of all of Italy in recent months. The next test for the majority will now be the decree on the Veneto banks.

Returning to the topic of vaccines, the provision will now be examined by the Chamber probably as early as next Monday 24 July, having to be converted into law by 6 August, the date on which the decree will expire.

The consideration in the meeting began on Tuesday 11 July and was characterized by intense debate. During the explanations of vote in the hall on Thursday morning there was no lack of tension, to the extent that Senator Vincenzo D'Anna (Ala) was expelled from the hemicycle.

Here are the points of the innovations accepted in the Chamber, introduced during the examination in the Health Committee:

- reduction of mandatory vaccines from 12 to 10, of which 4 are subject to a three-year check;

– prediction of four vaccines optional (meningococcus C and B, rotavirus and pneumococcus);

– simplification of the procedures for transmitting data on vaccinated people between schools and Asl;

– possibility to book prophylaxis directly in the pharmacies through the Cup (Unified Booking Center);
