Waste decree: the Government fails twice on IDV and API motions

At this point the provision goes back to the commission - Strong suspicions from the opposition: according to Franceschini (Pd), there is "an exchange between the refusals of Naples and the vote of the League on the arrest of the Pope".

Waste decree: the Government fails twice on IDV and API motions

The government has been beaten twice over the waste decree. The Chamber has approved part of a motion by the IDV on which the Minister of the Environment, Stefania Prestigiacomo, had expressed a favorable opinion. The entire majority voted against, while Prestigiacomo abstained, but the votes of the opposition alone were sufficient to pass the text. Result: 287 no, 296 yes and six abstentions.

Shortly after the Executive went under again. This time in the vote on an API motion. After the second slide from the benches of the opposition, the cry rose: "Resignation!". Obviously the episodes have further increased the tensions between the ranks of the majority. Both the leader of the PDL, Fabrizio Cicchitto, and the defense minister, Ignazio La Russa, approached Prestigiacomo in the courtroom to understand the reasons for his behaviour.

“I don't feel disavowed – replied the owner of the Environment -. Today is a day of particular confusion and it is evident that there have been botched votes, which I regret, but I do not feel disavowed because I certainly cannot change my mind on the opinion of a motion which asks that the money for Campania be spent with transparency ”.

“The government is suffering from sunstroke. We wouldn't want this pathetic scene to be the result of an unholy pact between the Lega and the Pdl which provides for the abolition of the waste decree to please the Lega in exchange for the vote against the arrest of the Pope", attacked the IDV group leader in the Chamber, Massimo Donadi.

At this point, as established by the Chamber, the decree law on waste in Campania will be sent back to committee. On this same decision, the majority was defeated once again yesterday. They have no doubts from the Democratic Party: “Behind the postponement there is a price to pay – said Dario Franceschini – it is this afternoon's vote. The exchange is between the refusals of Naples and the vote of the League on the arrest of the Pope”.
