Imu decree, Pd amendment rejected: no to the first installment on the richest houses

The presidents of the Budget and Finance committees of the Chamber declared the amendment inadmissible "due to non-material matter", as the text also envisaged bringing VAT back to 21% until the end of the year thanks to the resources recovered with the Imu imposed on the richest taxpayers.

Imu decree, Pd amendment rejected: no to the first installment on the richest houses

The most urgent measures to be implemented are the "maneuver" to return to the 3% deficit ceiling e the law of stability, but Pd and Pdl start the week arguing about theIMU. One of the amendments leading to the single municipal tax decree proposed by the Democrats was declared inadmissible by the House Budget and Finance Committees.

The fix was to exempt from paying the first installment Imu only taxpayers who own a first home with a cadastral income of less than 750 euros, against the abolition on all main homes established by the decree.

The presidents of the two commissions declared the amendment inadmissible "due to extraneous matter", as the text also envisaged bring VAT back to 21% until the end of the year precisely thanks to the resources recovered with the IMU imposed on the richest taxpayers (1,2 billion euros, of which 400 million would have gone to the Cig by way of derogation and 50 to the Rental Fund). This was the line repeatedly suggested by the Deputy Minister of the Economy, Stefano Fassina.

In all, the committees rejected 322 of the 454 amendments presented. The Pd's proposal to tax vacant properties at 50% of Irpef and use the proceeds for discounts to businesses and tenants was also rejected.

The decree expires on October 31st and is expected in the House on Wednesday afternoon, to then be examined by the Senate.
