Inflation in the OECD area slows down in June, but Italy is bucking the trend

Inflation slowed down in the OECD area, falling from 3,2 in May to 3,1 yoy in June. The effect is due to the lower growth in energy prices, which do not exceed the 14% threshold recorded the previous month, stopping at 13,6%. On a monthly basis, prices recorded a drop of 0,1% after +0,3% in May.

As they had already pointed out data from Istat and Eurostat, Italy is bucking the trend. In our country, the results show an increase rather than a reduction: from 2,6% two months ago to 2,7%. The same is true for France, where prices are growing, from 2% to 2,1%, and China, whose values show an increase from 5,5% to 6,4%. Conversely, inflation decreased in Canada (from 3,7% to 3,1%), the United Kingdom (from 4,5% to 4,2%) and Japan (from 0,3% to 0,2%). Stable data in the United States (at 3,6%) and in Germany (at 2,3%). The level in the Eurozone is also unchanged, where the harmonized index stands at 2,7%.
