Dazn: the government is asking for more investments and less disservices

Consumer protection and fight against piracy. This morning the top management of Dazn during a meeting at the Changing the with Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti and Undersecretary Anna Ascani. In a note, the ministry underlines that it will maintain "the utmost attention to the critical issues that have emerged in these first few months", but also explains that Dazn has been asked to commit itself on four fronts:

  • avoid changing the rules on the run;
  • strengthen the customer center, so that it is more attentive to the needs of customers with less familiarity with technological tools;
  • continue with investments in the network and technology for avoid disruptions to users;
  • ensure one greater clarity in consumer information.

The Mise expressed its "commitment, also on behalf of the whole Government, to strengthen the tools against piracy".

The question concerns the (very widespread) practice of sharing the data for accessing the Dazn platform among relatives or friends, so as to be able to watch the matches in more than one home with a single subscription. The company considers this behavior to be unlawful and for this reason it had hypothesized to no longer allow two logins simultaneously with the same credentials. The news had raised great controversy - hence the call from the Mise not to "change the rules in the running" - so in the end Dazn he backtracked.

After Wednesday's meeting, the company reiterated that "there will be no changes in the use of the service during this season and that any type of modification will be communicated in a clear and transparent manner and in due time".

Dazn also announced by the end of November the improvement in the quality of the pictures with Full HD.

Furthermore, the company says it is “ready to further develop and enhance the Customer Service both from a technical point of view and with operators, to always ensure maximum responsiveness and attention to the requests of its customers".
