Datalogic does technology shopping in Portugal

An agreement to acquire the assets and the high power pulsed fiber laser technology based on the "Mopa" system of the company Multiwave Photonics, a Portuguese company based in Porto: is the one signed by Dadtalogic on XNUMXst August last. This is what the Bolognese company reveals today in a note.

The value of the operation – it is stated – is 575.000 euros and will be entirely financed with internal resources. Multiwave Photonics technology, Datalogic claims, is currently the most advanced in the "fiber laser" sector for the industrial marking of objects and for the processing of materials including steel, plastic and glass.

The agreement provides that technology and assets (including customers, projects, products and know-how) "will be integrated into Datalogic by the end of the current year", also thanks to a team dedicated to product design and engineering. The pocket-sized multinational has been operating in the sector since 2004, and wants to "further strengthen the division, both in terms of commercial proposal and high-level positioning in the fiber laser segment, potentially with greater future development".

With this operation "Datalogic - comments Romano Volta, president and CEO - confirms that it has a strong investment capacity in the technological field, with a wide-ranging vision". With Multiwave Photonics "it will be able to improve its competitive position and increase its presence in a market, albeit a niche one, with strong growth potential and highly innovative".
