German automotive group Daimler, maker of Mercedes Benz, is in advanced talks to take over 25% of Italian motorcycle maker MV Agusta. The Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper writes today, citing financial sources in Milan.

Daimler would buy 25% of Mv Agusta through its subsidiary AMG for about 30 million euros with an option to increase the stake in exchange for further investments, according to the German newspaper.

An agreement could be sealed early next week, the newspaper said. No comment from Daimler, while it was not possible to reach Mv Agusta, informs Reuters.
