Daimler, 4,6nd quarter profit at XNUMX billion thanks to EADS sale

The German automaker Daimler reported in the second quarter a net profit of 4,6 billion also thanks to the sale of its remaining stake in EADS (3,2 billion for 7,5% of the aerospace group). Net profit, after the remuneration of minority shareholders, amounted to 2,8 billion, almost double compared to the second quarter of 2012 (1,5 billion). The Stuttgart Group confirmed the provisional results published on July 12, namely an operating profit (EBIT) of 5,2 billion, up 131% year-on-year, and revenues of 29,7 billion, up by 3%. "Our expectations have not changed," said group number one Dieter Zetsche during a conference call. Daimler still expects an EBIT excluding extraordinary items, ie also the capital gain from the sale of EADS, lower than that of 2012 (8,1 billion) and an increase in turnover. “Daimler is doing well but it will do even better in the second half,” Zetsche said.
