Encourage the development of digital skills through the narration of some exemplary events. This is the objective of "Storie di Risorgimento Digitale", a new TV series born from the collaboration between Tim and Rai Pubblicità, available on Raiplay from 7 December. The eight episodes - each 25 minutes long - recount the experiences of people and public and private structures who used the web and digital during the pandemic to overcome or reduce some difficulties indirectly linked to the virus.

The settings are the most diverse: from a school in Castel Volturno, in the province of Caserta, to the shops of Rome, passing through the Uffizi Gallery. And among the stories told there is also that Cristian Fracassi, an engineer from Brescia who, in the midst of the pandemic emergency, reproduced through 3D printing the valves used in medical respirators for Covid-19 patients. “Stories of Digital Risorgimento” was written by Riccardo Luna together with Giovanni Amico, Valeria Anci and Gianpaolo Colletti. The direction is by Simone Valentini.

The series is linked to "Operazione Risorgimento Digitale", a project born in 2019 on the initiative of Tim and which involved over 40 partners from the public, private and non-profit sectors to address the problem of the cultural digital divide, overcoming the delay of the Italy compared to other European countries in the use of new technologies.

“We launched Operation Risorgimento Digitale at the end of 2019 with the aim of accelerating the dissemination of digital skills throughout the territory and to all people, so that no one is left out - explains Salvatore Rossi, president of Tim - In Italy, the gap to fill in this area is still very broad and for this reason we need to create a system and work together, public and private. We are honored to launch, together with Rai, Storie di Risorgimento Digitale, a project which, like Maestro Manzi in the 60s, aims this time to promote and support the digital education of Italians. Indeed, the stories told in the docuseries confirm the central role of new technologies as an enabler of opportunities, growth and inclusion. The challenge to promote the new alphabet continues and we are convinced that initiatives like this are fundamental to overcoming inequalities and promoting integration".
