From They call me Trinity to Rocca delle Macie: a Magnum for Italo Zingarelli

It was 1970 when Italo Zingarelli produced an extraordinary "blend" of two beloved actors, Terence Hill and Bud Spencer: "They called me Trinity..." appeared in Italian cinemas, one of the greatest successes of Italian cinema ever, the progenitor of a saga that even today it has an incredible generational and international following with aficionados in the 4 corners of the world.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of the historic film, the Zingarelli family, who passed from the world of cinema to that of successful wine with a "Rocca delle Macie" brand exported all over the world, opened the "Galleria Trinità" in the company ” a new movie destination dedicated to the innovative Italian film producer and progenitor of the wine dynasty, presenting a Limited Edition of 1970 Magnum of Chianti Classico Gran Selezione to celebrate its founder.

“A marriage that has marked the history of Italian Cinema and that is due to the foresight of our Italo father” – declares Sandra Zingarelli, who has always been closest to the Cinematographic branch of the Family – who was able to read the desire in those screenplays – in an Italy experiencing its first major economic and social difficulties – to re-emerge and start again, with Forza & Leggerezza”.

“We had decided to greet him with an event in our Castellina in Chianti estate – already scheduled for 2020, then blocked by the pandemic – which would trace a profile and a story reviewed with new eyes, 50 years later” – adds Sergio Zingarelli, President of Rocca delle Macìe – “Now, we can finally do it with a newfound desire for serenity and conviviality!”

For the occasion, a preview screening of the original film was organised, restored in collaboration with the Cineteca di Bologna, with which the Zingarelli family wanted to ensure the continuity and usability of the film also for the generations of children and grandchildren of those who had the luck and the pleasure of experiencing the first "epic", transmitting an extremely topical message on the importance of using Bud's "good strength" - in combination with Terence's "sagacity" - to defeat adversity.

In the Rocca delle Macìe Estate of Castellina in Chianti, the "Trinità Gallery" was opened to the public with the artistic supervision of Officina Grafica Firenze, with memorabilia from the sets and unpublished and other stage photos, for the enjoyment of the thousands of always active fans in the world.

The Rocca delle Macie company was founded in 1973 by Italo Zingarelli, and has become one of the most successful wineries in the Chianti Classico area. It has about 500 hectares of which over 200 are planted with vineyards and 25 with olive groves, divided between the six owned estates: Le Macìe, Sant'Alfonso, the Riserva di Fizzano and the Tavolelle in the Chianti Classico area, Campomaccione and Casa Maria in Maremma in the Morellino di Scansano area. The history of Rocca delle Macìe has always been characterized by a solid relationship with the territory on the one hand and by innovation and research aimed at improving quality on the other. Annually it produces an average of 2.7 million bottles for a turnover of around 20 million euros, over 70% of which is made abroad.
