Exceptional sale of antique but excellent objects and furnishings from Christie's for a total of 23,218,000 for a catalog of 39 works. The sale saw the best examples of English, French and German art objects: furniture, gilded bronzes, Chinese porcelain, silver, European porcelain, clocks, sculptures, miniature portraits and Vertu objects; while the styles represented included the different periods: Georgian, Baroque, Rococo, Neo-classicism, Chippendale, Victorian, Regency, Louis XIV, XV, XVI.

The auction confirms that ancient art, from paintings to objects, if of excellent quality and provenance, is highly sought after by collectors from all over the world, willing to pay even more than the estimate for the work, see the golden set of objects for a banquet, commissioned by the Maharaja of Patiala in honor of a trip by Prince Edward and used in his honor at a banquet on 24 February 1922. Owned by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala from 1891 to 1938 and already auctioned by Sotheby's, Belgravia, December 15, 1977.
