With the advance of Covid, there has also been a surge in Italy computer crimes. This was supported by the Tagliacarne Chamber of Commerce Study Centre, underlining that last year cybercrime increased by 17,2% in our country, despite the fact that the general number of crimes reported fell by 17,4% in the same period.
At the territorial level, the increase in cybercrime has been felt more strongly in Veneto (+ 35,3%), Abruzzo (+ 29,7%) and Puglia (+ 26,7%).
It is above all the North East that has seen a surge in reports of cyber crimes (+21,3%).
However, in relation to the population, the most affected region is the Liguria, with 571,7 computer crimes reported per 100 inhabitants. They follow Piemonte (569,1) and Friuli-Venezia Giulia (530,1)
Among the Italian provinces, cybercrime has hit the most Gorizia, in first place for the number of crimes reported, a good 50% more than the Italian average (678,1 against 450).
In second and third place they are placed Torino e Novara (642,7 and 641,9 respectively).
The provinces most sheltered from computer crime are instead those of Barletta-Andria-Trani (137,3), Bolzano (196,6) and Lodi (249,7).
