This month Italian industrial production is going through a phase of stagnation. According to the Study Center of Confindustria, in November there is a minimum decrease (-0,1%) compared to October. In turn, a decline of 0,2% on September was recorded last month.
To date, our country has recorded a recovery of 9,4% compared to the lows of March 2009, but the fall still remains abysmal (-19,1%) compared to the peak of the previous cycle, reached in April 2008. The average production daily rate in November decreased by 3,4% over twelve months, against -2,8% in October.
As for the current quarter, the CSC estimates that “despite an almost flat monthly trend, there will be a cyclical drop in activity, after the contraction of the third (-0,1%) and the increase of the second (+1,1%). The change acquired in the current quarter is in fact -2,3%, largely due to the -2% inherited from the previous period”.
