The progress of the Italian economy is in line with or higher than that indicated by Study Center of Confindustria in the mid-June scenario. This is stated by the Conjuncture flash elaborated by the Csc, according to which "The probabilities of an upward revision of the CsC estimates for the 2015 (+ 0,8%), thanks also to the easing of tensions caused by the Greek crisis”.
According to the study center, industrial production and GDP showed a growth trend better than expected, increasing by 0,3% over the previous quarter. In detail, the industry also experienced a new acceleration in turnover and orders, driven by the advance of domestic demand.
Also take a look atoccupation which, according to Congiuntura Flash, has restarted: the April-May two-month period recorded an increase of 63 thousand units over the 1st quarter (+0,3%), thanks to the record monthly increase in April (+131 thousand units). The unemployment rate, however, remains unchanged at 12,4% in the first quarter.
According to the CsC, the priority of the Italian economy to ensure a lasting recovery is to continue "along the road of structural reforms, including the reduction of the tax burden which weighs down the competitiveness of businesses".
