Cristina Marcuzzo first economist at the Lincei

Maria Cristina Marcuzzo, full professor of political economy at the "La Sapienza" University of Rome and one of the world's leading scholars of Keynes's thought, has been called to join the Accademia dei Lincei. You are the first female economist to enter the illustrious scientific assembly, chaired by Alberto Quadrio Curzio, after three votes envisaged by the regulation among the 540 Italian and foreign members of the Academy.

Marcuzzo was nominated for the Moral Sciences section, of which economics is known to derive, and of which about fifteen economists belong: in the past, in the 50s, a another woman, the famous demographer Nora Federici, but Marcuzzo is by far the first female economist.

The prestigious appointment, which is purely honorific and does not involve prebends, will not prevent her from continuing to teach at the "La Sapienza" University of Rome where Marcuzzo was one of the main students of Paolo Sylos Labini but above all from holding courses and conferences all over the world - from the United States to South America and from China to India - on the thought of Keynes to which he has dedicated most of his studies.

Maria Cristina Marcuzzo, who has an incredibly rich curriculum - which we attach - has written numerous scientific works, mostly in English, and has repeatedly honored FIRSTonline with her writings, of which we also attach the list of interventions on our site.
