Cristiano Ronaldo sends Juve to heaven: goals from the film archive

With a spectacular goal and an NBA-worthy elevation, Cristiano Ronaldo gives Juve the victory (2-1) over Sampdoria and consolidates the primacy of the black and whites – Dybala's first goal is also beautiful

Cristiano Ronaldo sends Juve to heaven: goals from the film archive

Ronaldo takes Juve to heaven. Her imperious detachment, in some ways surreal, is worth Marassi's success and 3 very heavy championship points: now the Lady can dive body and soul into the Super Cup, aware that on Saturday, at worst, she can be hooked by Inter, but not outdated. In short, mission accomplished, under the banner of the trident. Sarri, after thinking about it all day before, has decided to rely again on Dybala, Higuain and Ronaldo and the responses, for the third time in a week, have been decidedly positive.

The "Dygualdo" works great and never mind if behind you end up conceding something more: when they have the ball it's pain, obviously for the others. If then you find yourself up against an opponent like Ranieri's Sampdoria, lined up with a 4-4-2 with no forwards (Quagliarella and Gabbiadini on the bench thanks to Caprari and Ramirez) and with the only wish to restart on the counterattack, here is that the ball of the game inevitably always ends up in the hands of Juve, thus bringing out all the technical overwhelming power of those three.

Something always happens with them on the pitch, so much so that someone can even afford to miss: this is the case of Higuain, author of a performance below the usual standards. It doesn't matter, because Dybala and Ronaldo instead gave away signature shots, scoring two wonderful goals. The game was unlocked by the Argentine with a spectacular left-footed volley (19'), a shot which, also for reasons of stadium, recalled Totti's in 2005, at least in terms of modality.

It would have been the cover of the evening, were it not for the fact that CR7 managed to do even better; however we'll get to this in a moment, because in the middle there was a draw by Sampdoria, the result of a mistake by Alex Sandro and an opportunistic right-footed shot by Caprari (35'), anything but tender in "dirtying" the Buffon's record on the day of match number 647 in Serie A, a record in cohabitation with Maldini. There, in a difficult moment for his parents, Ronaldo decided he had to take matters into his own hands, finally giving away a play worthy of the name.

In the header that directed the match there are three things to underline: the jump that humiliated Murru (2,56 meters, worthy of an NBA champion), the suspension in the sky for almost a second (an eternity), the precision in slipping the ball under the cross opposite Audero's post. An absolute jewel that contains all the essence of him: on a technical level, perhaps, Messi remains superior, but from an athletic point of view he is still number one.

The second half, on the other hand, didn't give much away, partly because of the inevitable black and white drop, partly because the match, at that point, was up to Sampdoria, whose qualities, with all due respect, are quite another matter. Ranieri tried to reinvigorate him by inserting Gabbiadini but Juve held on without particular problems, even though they were unable to find that 3-1 that would have allowed them a few more minutes of rest.

“We had a first half on the levels of the match against Udinese, in the second half we were more confusing but we didn't even risk that much – Sarri's analysis. – Sorry we didn't close it earlier because you can concede goals in the final scrums. In the second half we stretched a little because of the team that followed the attackers less and a little because of the attackers themselves, probably tired from the many games. Higuain is the one who paid the most, while the other two scored two phenomenal goals: Cristiano went to heaven for an infinite amount of time…".

With the championship over, it's time to think about Lazio and another evening of passion. The Riyadh Super Cup (Sunday at 17.45 pm Italian time) is a trophy that Sarri doesn't want to lose, also because the opponent is the only one who has managed to beat him this season. To take revenge, however, a top-level performance will be needed, with or without a trident. Even if now, after having seen for the umpteenth time what those three are capable of, it becomes difficult to think of doing without them...
