Crisis: in 2010 one company out of three made a loss

A third of Italian companies, in the 2010 tax year (last available tax returns) declared a loss. This was communicated by the Department of Finance of the Ministry of Economy, emphasizing, however, that the figure, which stands at 33,7%, is lower than the 37% of 2009, and the new trend would therefore be linked to a "temporary economic recovery".

In fact, Irap revenue marks a recovery of the tax base in almost all sectors, especially manufacturing (+11%) and trade (+5%), while the financial sector recorded a clear decrease (-11%). THEThe total IRAP declared in 2010 grew by 1,9% on an annual basis, reaching 32,5 billion euros, or an average value of 10.078 euros.

The total declared value of production grew in parallel, +2,1% to 670 billion euros, and the total taxable base, +2% year-on-year to 668 billion. However, despite the temporary recovery of the economy mentioned above, there was a sharp drop in corporate income, linked above all to the heavy fall in the financial sector (-26,8%). The average declared income, in fact, fell by 8,8% compared to 2009, to 234.290 euros.

Another heavy figure is that of bankrupt companies, over 100 in 2010, about a tenth of the total. However, the growth in the number of companies going into bankruptcy, liquidation or extinct has slowed down, from 18,5% in 2009 to 3,1% in 2010.
