Energy crisis, Spada (Assolombarda) presses the EU: "If companies close, Italy will die"

Energy crisis, new government and role of the European Union. These are some of the central points of the letter that Alessandro Spada, President of Assolombarda, he sent to local entrepreneurs showing concern for the near future of the economy and geopolitical dynamics. “We want one legislature who is not afraid to talk about industry and with industry: it is time for politics to perceive us as interlocutors with whom to plan, innovate and create the future to ensure the prosperity of our country system. Corporate culture must be the lowest common denominator for everyone's benefit”, Spada explained.

Energy crisis, Spada: "Europe cannot be deaf to our requests"

As for the topic of energy crisis, the second goal Swordfish is to “urge the Union not to waste further time on measures such as the ceiling on the price of gas and decoupling of the energy price from that of gas. Missing such an important objective risks giving credit to those who have once again questioned the solidarity between member states: if businesses close, Italy dies and Europe cannot be deaf. Today the gas problem especially concerns inflated prices, which is why we ask the European Union to tackle these uncontrolled speculations with decisive and unitary measures. In short, we ask for consistency also in the responses to the consequences deriving from the sanctions, which we have shared because freedom will continue to be worth more than anything else".

Spada: "Lombardy's economy has shown extraordinary resilience"

Now that companies will face some extremely complicated months for the maintenance of the production system, there is a strong commitment to ensure that the voices of local companies are heard, "also because our companies continue to represent a real driving force for the whole country. In the first half of 2022, in fact, theLombardy economy showed extraordinary resistance: after an extremely positive first quarter, the second closed with even more surprising data, despite the strong adverse factors. The manufacturing, for example, accelerated beyond all expectations between April and last June, much more than the Italian average and the main European countries. The positive momentum is also evident on international markets, with Lombard exports growing by a good 2022% compared to the second quarter of 20,7". Numbers that testify that, despite the difficulties, "this territory still allows the country to be recognized as an attractive and competitive international excellence" concluded the president of Assolombarda.
