The car market is growing, driven by FCA

Registrations in Italy in June mark a +14,35% compared to a year ago, but for the sixth consecutive month FCA beats the market: +20% – The Panda still dominates purchases.

In June almost 147 new cars were registered in Italy, 14,35 percent more than a year ago. In the first half of 2015 registrations were 873, up by 15,2 percent compared to the same period last year. Once again – it is the sixth consecutive – Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has grown more than the market. In June, registrations were 41.600 with an increase of 20 percent. The share obtained was 28,4 percent, the sixth consecutive month of growth, up from 27 percent a year ago.

In the first six months of the year, FCA registered over 248 cars, 17 percent more than in the same period last year (also in this case the growth was better than that of the market) and obtained a share of 28,4 percent, +0,45 percentage points compared to 2014. For Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, the first half of 2015 is the one with the growth highest in the last 10 years. In the ranking of the best-selling cars of the month, five FCA cars occupy the top positions, in order: Panda, Punto, Ypsilon, 500L and 500. In June, the Fiat brand registered 30.300 cars - 12,6 percent more than same month last year – and got a 20,7 percent share. In the first half of 2015, Fiat registrations were almost 183 thousand (13,4 percent more than in 2014) and the share was 20,9 percent. After the "Single Fiat Month" in June, the brand is celebrating the arrival of the New 500 with two initiatives, "500 Night" and "4 hours of madness", thanks to which on the evening of 3 July from 20pm to midnight it will be possible to buy all models in the Fiat range ready for delivery with options at 24% of their value, free for the New 50.

In June, the main Fiat models achieved excellent results. The Panda once again dominated the market with almost 10.500 registrations, 41,6 percent in the A segment. The 500 – fifth best-selling car in Italy – also did well with over 4 registrations and a segment share of 17,4 percent. The 500L was once again the most requested PRESS RELEASE in its category with over 4.900 sales and a 59,5 percent share in its segment. The constant growth of the 500X continues and with a 16,2 percent share it is the best-selling car in its segment. The Punto also did well, the best-selling segment B with almost 5.800 registrations. Lancia registered over 5.700 cars in June, 22 percent more than a year ago (a value higher than the market), with a share of 3,9 percent, up by 0,2 percentage points. In the progressive year, almost 32.200 Lancias were registered (6 per cent more than in the first six months of last year) and the share was 3,7 per cent. Once again excellent sales success for the Ypsilon which, with over 5.600 registrations, was the third best-selling car in the month with a 13,8% share in segment B. Alfa Romeo in June increased its sales more than the market average, with over 2.800 registrations, up 17,05 percent compared to a year ago.

The share was 1,9 percent, slightly higher than in June 2014. In the first half of the year, the brand registered over 17 cars, +6,1 percent compared to last year, for a share by 2 percent, up by 0,2 percentage points. In June Giulietta was confirmed as one of the most requested cars in its segment with a share of 10,7%. Yet another sales exploit for Jeep which in June, with 2.800 registrations, increased sales by 308,6 percent, one of the highest growths ever recorded in Italy. Compared to last year, brand registrations have more than quadrupled. Share close to 2 per cent, increased by 1,4 percentage points. There were 16 trademark registrations in the first six months of the year, up 269,4 percent compared to a year ago, for a share of 1,8 percent, up 1,3 percentage points . The excellent results of the Jeep brand are largely due to the Renegade, now firmly among the best-selling in its segment.
