The current CEO Brady Dougan leaves the leadership of the Swiss group after 8 years - In his place comes the Ivorian Tidjane Thiam who in turn leaves Prudential - The stock jumps up by 7%

Change at the helm of Credit Suisse. After 8 years Brady Dougan steps down as CEO of the financial institution. The Ivorian will take the place of the 56-year-old American Tidjane Thiam who led the British Prudential from 2009 to today.

“It's the perfect time for the bank and for me to step over as CEO,” Dougan explained. “I am proud of what the management team and all the employees of Credit Suisse have done, especially in the years that I have been CEO”, said the resigning, “we managed the situation well during the economic crisis of 2008 and to anticipate and make our business evolve proactively in the new market and in the new regulations”.

The news of the change at the top gave a strong boost to the Credit Suisse stock than at 12 today earn more than 7% on the Zurich Stock Exchange. Opposite effect for Prudential's share which loses two percentage points on the London Stock Exchange.
