Credit Suisse, the recapitalization sinks the stock on the stock exchange

Credit Suisse loses sharply on the Zurich Stock Exchange. The cause would be the rumors reported today by the Financial Times which spoke of a "considerable capital increase". The announcement, according to the English newspaper, should arrive shortly.

The news had serious repercussions on the share that yields 3,91% to 24,31 francs Swiss, after reaching -4,5% in the early afternoon.

In detail, the FT claims that the new director of the bank, Tidjane Thiam, will announce on 21 October the recapitalization envisaged in the new strategic plan. No precise news on the amount, even if last week Goldman Sachs had anticipated an operation worth 5 billion francs. The purpose of the capital increase will be to absorb the losses caused
by the acceleration of the reorganization of the group and in parallel to face the increase in capital requirements requested by the regulators.
