The shareholders' meeting of Crédit Agricole Italy gave green light for the 2024 financial statement e company top management renewed for the three-year period 2025-2027, formalizing the new composition of the board of directors and the board of auditors.
Among the main decisions, the assembly ratified the nominations proposed by the board of directors last February 12th, designating Giampiero Maioli to the presidency and Hugues Brasseur to the operational management of the bank as chief executive officer and managing director, also with the attribution of the role of Senior Country Officer for Italy. The new positions represent a choice of continuity with respect to the strategic path undertaken by the group, confirming the central weight of the Italian market in the activities of Crédit Agricole.
Maioli, a key figure in the group's expansion in the country, takes over the Presidency after serving as CEO for 15 years. Brasseur, a long-time figure within Crédit Agricole and already at the top of the Italian institution between 2012 and 2016, returns to Parma to lead a new phase of industrial development.
A profit of 808 million and double-digit growth
The 2024 consolidated financial statement approved by the Assembly shows a net profit of 808 million euro, up by + 14,1 % on an annual basis. A aggregate level, the net result of Crédit Agricole's activities in Italy reached 1,556 billion euros (+19% compared to 2023), of which 1,254 billion pertaining to the French group. Overall financing to the Italian economy reached a quota 102 billion euros.
Italy represents the second domestic market for the French group, present with a wide range of activities: from retail banking to corporate & investment banking, from consumer credit to wealth management, up to insurance and leasing. With over 16.000 collaborators e 1.600 points of sale, Crédit Agricole confirms its centrality in the Italian economic-financial system.
The structure of the new governance
In addition to the top appointments, the new board of directors sees a combination of continuity and renewal. The vice-presidency confirmed Annalisa Sassi, Flanked by Jerome Grivet, deputy ceo of Crédit Agricole SA The reconfirmed directors include, among others, Gino Gandolfi e Anna Maria Fellegara, as they enter the board Mary Anghileri, Valentina Aureli, Matthew Melley e Véronique Raccoussot-Sorosina.
