Credem, a medium-sized bank in Reggio Emilia, is optimistic for 2014. “Based on the four months already completed and with the imminent approval of the quarterly report which will already give indications on at least a quarter of the income statement for the entire year, the first signals are comforting”. Giorgio Ferrari, chairman of Credem, told Radiocor on the sidelines of the shareholders' meeting.

“My vision for the whole year is that this will continue – he added – and that it will therefore be a positive year. As far as I can tell, however, banking is becoming enormously more and more complicated. I've been on the board since 1975 and I've seen all the evolution”.

As for the economic situation in Italy, Ferrari believes that “if things don't get worse, it's already a positive thing. Everywhere there is this slogan of recovery and I'm happy that it is. I willingly adhere to this thesis also because the economy that arises from consumption is closely linked to psychological factors. This can be seen particularly in small towns, such as here in Reggio Emilia".
