For Elisabetta and Massimo Cragnotti, Sergio's children, the judges declared the statute of limitations for the disputed crime, while for another son, Andrea, the sentence was 2 years and 4 months (it was 4 years in the first degree).

Cragnotti's son-in-law, Filippo Fucile (previously 3 years and 10 months) was also sentenced to 4 years and 6 months.
