Vaccinations in Italy by mid-January, as well as throughout Europe. This was announced by the extraordinary commissioner Domenico Arcuri in a press conference, providing further details about the vaccine plan: “The idea that there could be a European country that starts before the other is distant, the campaign it will begin in all countries on a symbolic day, one day before the actual start of vaccinations. We are all working tirelessly for a mass vaccination plan, we hope that vaccines can be administered to Italians from the first half of January. The light at the end of the tunnel is starting to shine through."
The first wave of vaccinations, Arcuri added, it will affect 1,8 million Italians and they will be the social-medical staff of the hospitals and the guests and staff of the residences for the elderly. The articulation of the regional distribution will take place between the next two days: they will be there 300 administration points at the start and 1.550 in the mass phase. "We are drawing up a budget - said the emergency commissioner - and the gazebo construction sheet, we think there will be many companies that will carry out this function pro bono, we expect and are certain that this will happen, in some cases we already know ; it won't be the economic question to consider, many will give us or are giving us the fruit of their ingenuity and their work”.
It will be a flower, one primrose, the symbol of the countryside of Covid vaccines which will start in mid-January. The symbol was presented by the architect Stefano Boeri – who made it – during the press conference with Arcuri. "Italy is reborn with a flower" is the slogan that accompanies the symbol and will be present throughout the campaign. “This idea of a primrose that helps us get out of a gloomy winter is the message we want to give – said Boeri -. The flower is the signal for the beginning of spring, a symbol of serenity and rebirth".
