Covid, Ubi Banca adheres to the Abi-Anci-Upi agreement

UBI Banca has adhered to the framework agreement signed by ABI with Anci and UPI (Unione Provinces of Italy) aimed at suspension of loan installments granted by banks to local authorities. The world of credit thus wanted to give a further concrete signal of support, especially to the areas hardest hit by the coronavirus emergency. The subject of the suspension are the installments due in 2020 (the principal amount is suspended) with the simultaneous extension of the amortization plan by 12 months. Requests for suspension must be submitted to the bank by 15 May 2020. As provided for in the agreement, the bank undertakes to provide an answer usually within 30 days of submitting the application or of submitting any additional information requested.

The measure is intended for Municipalities, Provinces and other territorial bodies such as metropolitan cities, mountain communities, unions of Municipalities and consortia of local bodies that intend to join. "It is an intervention from which all the communities and territories that these institutions represent will benefit," he declared Riccardo Tramezzani, Head of the UBI Community Area, a strategic division of UBI Banca which aims to facilitate the creation of partnerships between profit, non-profit and public administration. “Adherence to the agreement is part of a complex series of measures that UBI Banca immediately adopted to support institutions, businesses, households and the third sector affected by the effects of the spread of Covid-19, including "Rilancio Italia" , an integrated programme, launched on 1 April, which provides for the disbursement of loans of up to 10 billion euro”.
