Ferrovie dello Stato was awarded for the safety of its employees during the Covid emergency. The group led by Gianfranco Battisti has in fact obtained the WELL Health-Safety Rating certification, a standard developed by the International Well Building Institute of New York, for the cleaning and sanitizing procedures of the workplace, the management of smart working, and employee welfare dedicated to Covid-19, such as rapid antigenic swabs for workers who have come into contact with suspected cases of infected people and insurance coverage in the event of hospitalization from contagion.

The WELL Health-Safety Rating standard evaluates the procedures envisaged to guarantee a safe working environment, the protocols necessary to minimize the risk of contagion in the company and the actions taken to improve the ability to respond to emergency situations. “This certification is further confirmation of the FS Group's commitment to guaranteeing people's health and safety,” he commented. The certification recognized particular importance to the group's commitment to various welfare initiatives to provide assistance to people both in the workplace and in private life. “Since the first days of the health emergency, Fs has activated insurance coverage for all employees in the event of hospitalization due to contagion from Covid-19, joined the flu vaccination campaign offering all staff who have voluntarily chosen to get vaccinated an economic contribution for the purchase of the vaccine, it has made 18 structures of the Health Directorate available in the area to carry out rapid antigenic swabs on those who have had close contact with suspected Covid cases ", he explains a note.

Trenitalia had also previously obtained recognition for the protection of both employees and travellers: the Biosafety Trust Certification developed by the RINA certification body, which recognizes the best practices adopted in the field of infection prevention and control and testifies to the important work carried out to guarantee travelers and employees the highest levels of hygiene and sanitation.
