Covid-19, Generali delivers the first fans in Lombardy

Generali is increasingly active in the field against the coronavirus. The insurance group, which was the first to create an extraordinary international fund with an endowment of up to 100 million to support the health system, announced that it has already completed another concrete aid: already today, in the resuscitation departments of hospitals in Lombardy, the Lion delivered the first ventilators imported from Germany with a humanitarian operation by Hope Onlus, carried out thanks to a donation from Generali.

The fans arrived from the Dixion factory in Düsseldorf in Germany to Milan through a humanitarian operation managed by Hope Onlus, a non-profit organization specializing in health and education projects, active in Italy and the Middle East. Collaboration between profit, non-profit and the public allowed to have delivery priority by industries that are unable to process ventilator orders from all over the world. The scientific support of the Buzzi Foundation and the direct coordination between Hope Onlus and the Head of the Crisis Unit Prof. Antonio Pesenti, Head of Intensive Care at the Milan Polyclinic, have made possible a 100% controlled supply chain, which from production reaches patient service.

They have therefore already been installed today, in record time, 8 intensive care places in the hospitals of Crema, Brescia and Buzzi in Milan. Another 12 are on the way. In recent days, Generali had already donated 500 protective suits to healthcare facilities in Lombardy. Furthermore, last week Generali Deutschland, in cooperation with Air DolomitiLufthansa, supported Italian diplomacy in Germany in the transport of 2.500 protective devices donated by a group of Chinese entrepreneurs.

“We are happy that Assicurazioni Generali – he commented Elena Fazzini, President of the Hope Onlus Foundation -, always attentive to the protection and safety of people, accepted the urgent appeal of the hospitals and promptly responded, donating 20 ventilators for as many places in Intensive Care which are desperately needed at this moment. We also want to thank the Italian Ambassador in Germany, Luigi Mattiolo, who supported all the humanitarian action and who has made himself available to continue to help us, so that other medical equipment to serve the hospitals will soon arrive".
